About Peachy Pups

Thank you for taking the time to visit Peachy Pups, read my profile and for considering placing your trust in me to take care of your precious fur baby/babies.

These profiles are most difficult to write. One doesn't want to bore the reader by being too lengthy, but in the same token information is necessary in making an informed decision.
Having twice utilised pet sitting services in the past, I especially understand how difficult it is to choose someone to care for your precious pups. It's not easy to trust a perfect stranger.

Which is why I want to offer my services to my fellow pet owners and travellers. Sure, the extra income would come in handy, but for me it's about offering pet parents all the things I look for when I was going through this process; a home away from home that is welcoming, quiet, calm and safe; a place where the carer showers love onto their charges as if they are their own.

Our pets don't understand why they're all of a sudden in a strange place, with strange people, and often strange pets. My goal is for your baby to go through the least amount of stress, and ultimately, have enjoyed his or her stay with me. I offer my services to one new client at a time (school holidays excepted), ensuring your pupper receives the attention he/she deserves. Think of me as 'Grandma' who spoils her grandkids, yet strictly adheres to 'Mum and Dad's' instructions.

Peachy Pups came into being after a year of offering my services on Pawshake. 80% of my Pawshake clients have re-booked through Peachy Pups as I offer cheaper rates than on Pawshake (they earn a 20% commission on all bookings), plus, unlike Pawshake, my clients don't pay upfront when booking (more on that later).

I could write lots about myself, but if you're like me, the only way to really learn is to meet a prospective sitter; observe, and ask questions. Do I have a rapport with this person? Is there genuine love for animals or is it just a job? And above all, does my dog like this person and like their pet/s too? You may go through this process several times before you find one that is 'just right'; that instinctive thing. And of course, I would love that to be me.

For the love of dogs,
Dee (Donella)

What's perfect (well, almost) about Peachy Pups?

For Pups -

*

I simply adore them. I believe I have a special relationship with our canine buddies. Perhaps because they understand I'm a friend, but still the pack leader. When I get a lick and a rollover for a tum scratch? We're good!

*

I praise and reward good behaviour (especially so in the first 24-48 hours of their stay). Any inappropriate behaviour is treated with a firm yet gentle approach, with the clear understanding that sometimes dogs will act out when in a new environment.

*

When your fur baby comes to stay she will be in a safe, calm and peaceful home with few visitors (and no children).

*

Lots of excecise to be had from walking and through play. In inclement weather I set up an indoor play area with a tunnel and boxes to chase toys through, or to play hide n seek.

For Parents -

*

Only one booking at a time for first-time clients. See 'The Agreement'.

*

I'll work in with your requirements, and your pup's routine, as much as possible.

*

You'll get updates and pics via the communication method of your choice.

*

Just as every dog is different, so too is each client's expectations. Some clients want to know every detail, others are happy with a brief daily message and a photo.

*

I want you to have peace of mind during your travels. However, as much as the above is true, I'm also upfront if there are any issues I feel it's important for you to be immediately made aware of.
