Nick and Jessica Should Have Had a Prenuptial Agreement
Posted by Donald J. Trump on 12/7/2005 at 11:18 AM
With the end of yet another celebrity marriage--Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey--it's time, once again, to talk about prenuptial agreements.
Nick and Jessica apparently didn't have a prenup. What were they thinking? Jessica's father is a friend of mine and he's managed her career very well so far. I'm surprised, however, that he didn't get her to sign a prenup. I guess he didn't read my books.
When it comes to marriage, one thing I've preached over and over again is that you should have a prenup. I know it doesn't sound very romantic, and it's a difficult subject to broach when you're in love, but if you have any financial assets at all it's critical. You never know what will happen in love and money, so you should always be sure to cover your assets.
Besides being practical, a prenup is a matter of consideration and responsibility. It's a matter of consideration because a prenup can spare a couple some of the messier, more unpleasant aspects of divorce. It's also a responsibility because marriage, among other things, is a legal commitment. Why ignore this basic component of an important step in your adult life? If you aren't adult enough to be responsible, maybe you shouldn't be getting married in the first place.
When it comes to prenups, I'm talking about women as well as men. It's not strictly something that men should ask women to sign. Ladies, if you have assets, then by all means you should protect them before you walk down that aisle.
In Nick and Jessica's case, his career was bigger than hers when they first got together, but now her career has far surpassed his success, so the tables have certainly turned.
Watch how messy this Nick and Jessica thing will get. There are rumors, though, that they may get back together, which I really hope is what ultimately happens.

Elton John's wedding
Posted by Donald J. Trump on 12/22/2005 at 5:50 PM
There's a lot to celebrate this holiday season. Elton John married his long-time partner David Furnish on December 21. That's the first day that civil partnerships between gay couples became legal in England under the new Civil Partnership Act.
Elton credits David with helping him kick drug and alcohol addictions that nearly killed him. The pair has been together for 12 years. I know both of them and they get along wonderfully. It's a marriage that's going to work.
Elton made the ceremony a small private affair involving only his and David's parents as witnesses. The couple just didn't want to make a big deal out of the wedding. They really wanted to keep things low key.
By all accounts, Elton and David had every tabloid and every entertainment magazine knocking at their door begging for exclusive rights to the affair. By some news reports, the couple turned down an offer of $11 million to record their wedding for British television. But Elton said, Our relationship isn't up for grabs. It doesn't come with a price tag."
In any event, I'm very happy for them. If two people dig each other, they dig each other. Good luck, Elton. Good luck, David. Have a great life.
(But because I wasn't invited, do I still have to send them a toaster?)

Martha and Me
by Donald J. Trump
There has been a lot of controversy recently over Martha Stewart and the fact that she blamed me for her version of The Apprentice doing so badly in the ratings.
The fact is her show didn't work. For some reason Martha just wasn't very good at it. She tried. She put in the effort, but it didn't have what it takes to make a successful show.
In life, you have failures and there's really nothing wrong with that. But when you have a failure, try not to blame other people. Martha's version of The Apprentice was a failure. Mine got great ratings. Hers didn't. To be honest, I wasn't very surprised.
I wasn't a big fan of her show to begin with because I didn't like the underlying idea--two versions of the same show. I thought it caused confusion. Still, NBC really wanted to try it. The Apprentice was doing so well so they figured, "Hey, let's do another one."
The fact is Martha went out and instead of taking responsibility for the failure of her show, she blamed it on me. I did nothing but promote Martha. I said she was a brave woman. She was working hard. I didn't see the show until it aired. When I looked at the show, however, I realized it wasn't going to make it. It didn't have it.
But I'm upset with Martha, and I wrote her a letter that has been very controversial. I'm very satisfied with it, though. What I'm really most upset with Martha about, though, is her ingratitude. I was her single biggest promoter. I promoted her on every show, and I said what a wonderful woman she is, and I still believe that. Never once did she thank me. Never once did she call and say, "Donald, thank you very much." One thing about life: when you help somebody, it's always nice to get a thank you.

Tattoos
by Donald J. Trump
I get all sorts of interesting questions on my various Websites and from regular letters in the mail. A lot of people ask me for business advice. A lot of people flat-out ask me for money. And a lot of people ask the strangest personal questions. Believe it or not, a couple of people have even asked me if I have any tattoos.
The fact is I don't like tattoos. I don't like seeing people destroying their bodies and I hate to see people putting people's names on their bodies only to have them removed at a later date when they break up a la Angelina Jolie who is not exactly one of my favorite women.
Anyway, the American Academy of Dermatology conducted a survey and found out that one out of three Americans under the age of 30 has at least one tattoo. But it's not just young people who are getting themselves inked. One-quarter of Americans under the age of 50 have a tattoo.
Not that long ago, I watched Dwayne Wade win the NBA Championship. He was great and he has no tattoos. It seems as if he's the only guy in the NBA without them! He looked fantastic. He also happens to play a great game of basketball.
There was one not-so-surprising statistic unveiled from the study. The researchers found that people who drink, do drugs, have spent time in jail or have given up religion are more likely to be tattooed. Why doesn't that surprise me? Do yourself a favor. If you want to be taken seriously, don't get a tattoo. At least not somewhere where the rest of us have to look at it.

Britney, Britney, Britney
by Donald J. Trump
I really want to have sympathy for Britney Spears. And I hate to give the impression that I'm picking on her. But not long ago Britney went on television with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Dateline," pleading for her privacy.
She admitted that she was an emotional wreck but the interview ended up being an incredible train wreck. First, Britney looked terrible. Her skirt was too short. Her makeup was messy. When she opened her mouth, it only got worse. She blamed the paparazzi for her bad image. She didn't admit that she made a mistake by driving with her baby on her lap.
And even though she described her marriage to her husband as awesome, somehow Kevin never managed to show up for the interview. Now I have a problem criticizing Kevin because he goes around and tells people that Donald Trump is his hero. The fact is, it is a pretty strange relationship.
During that interview, Britney complained about all the media attention and tearfully begged to be left alone. I almost bought it.
Until I saw her posing nude - and very pregnant - on the cover of the most recent issue of Harper's Bazaar. She has absolutely nothing to promote - no new record, no movie, no book. So, to a lot of people, it sounds like the only possible thing she could be doing is trying to keep her name in the news.
Inside the magazine, the layout includes a photo of Britney in a backless evening gown carrying her son...and another shot of her lying down on a fur coat wearing nothing but a G-string.
Britney has seen better days. She performed four or five years ago at the Trump Taj Mahal and she was great. Now it seems as if everything's slipping away from her. Britney, don't let that happen. Don't let it slip away. Keep your head on straight.

Paul and Heather's Divorce Wars
by Donald J. Trump
Remember not long ago when Paul and Heather McCartney announced they were getting divorced and they said they would split "amicably" for the sake of their children?
Well the gloves are off and things are getting nasty.
Recently, Paul changed the locks on his London mansion and froze their joint bank account. He even issued a legal letter claiming that his soon-to-be-ex removed three bottles of cleaning fluid from his home. I'm not sure why that matters, but the accusation went public.
In court documents, Paul claims that Heather was "argumentative" and "rude to the staff" during their four-year marriage. But, because they had no prenuptial agreement, he could still end up paying as much as $400 million dollars to her in the divorce.
Now, there are reports that Heather is running around with a camcorder, shooting everything that happens to her. Allegedly, she's either going to use the tapes against Paul to get more money, OR she's going to make a documentary about how she's been the poor, wronged victim in this whole ordeal in order to sway public support.
The bottom line is...she wants a huge chunk of Paul's money.
I know I sound like a broken record but when people have money - whether they're famous or not - they have to protect that money, no matter how much in love they think they are.
Get a prenuptial agreement. I don't care how much you love your fiancé; it's just idiotic to get married without one. Don't believe me? Ask Paul McCartney what he thinks. I know he wishes he had one.

Madonna
by Donald J. Trump
Why is Madonna jumping on the celebrity foreign baby adoption bandwagon?
Meg Ryan adopted a baby girl from China. Ewan McGregor adopted a child from Mongolia. And, of course, there's the poster mother for foreign adoptions - Angelina Jolie - who has one child from Cambodia and one from Ethiopia.
Now Madonna is trying to adopt a baby boy from Africa.
Don't get me wrong. I think it's great that celebrities are calling attention to the plight of all these children in poverty-stricken countries. It raises the profile of the countries and of adoption in general.
But the situation sure invites criticism. Often, it can seem like the stars are going over and picking out a child they like much like they'd go and choose a handbag or some other stylish accessory they would buy in a store. And it seems that they get to avoid a lot of red tape and have an easier time with adoption than non-famous people.
In any event, I hope it works out for Madonna. But there are lots of great children here in the United States who need to be adopted and maybe we should start here.

Rosie
by Donald J. Trump
Lots of people have been asking me why I took such a harsh stand on Rosie O'Donnell.
I own the Miss USA pageant and had a Miss USA who is a very lovely girl, Tara Conner.
She had some problems because she was drinking too much. It was causing lots of difficulties but I decided to give Tara a second chance. She's right now in rehab and she's doing fine.
Rosie O'Donnell, however, didn't like that I gave Tara a second chance. She went on television and the venom came pouring out. A friend of mine called and said, --Boy does she hate you.--
I've known Rosie for a long time. She's been a loser. Her television show got bad ratings and she was fired. Her magazine was a total disaster and in fact, the publisher of the company, who was a rising star, ended up losing his job. She also did a Broadway play that was a total mess.
She's unattractive both outside and inside. You don't get worse than Rosie. She's been bullying people for a long time. And I'm the only one who fought back.
As far as I'm concerned, you don't get any lower than Rosie O'Donnell.

Britney Spears
by Donald J. Trump
Recently, I took Britney Spears to task for getting a little too wild after she announced that she and her husband are separating. She's been constantly partying every night and she was photographed - more often than not - without underwear.
Several celebrities have followed my lead and have chastised Britney for her behavior.
Singer Courtney Love - of all people - suggested that Britney should stay at home more to look after her children. Former supermodel Janice Dickinson suggested that Britney should --buckle down and become a parent.-- Bette Midler even went so far as to call her names that I don't even want to repeat.
On a more serious note, it was reported that the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services plans to investigate Britney about concerns over the welfare of her two children.
With all this attention, Britney admitted on her website that maybe she has taken the partying a little too far. She even said that she did go out and buy some new underwear.
I think Britney's going to be OK and I think she's going to be a great mother. She wants some free time but now, Britney, it's time to settle down and get back to work. It's time to get back to being a mother and being a star.

Give People a Chance
Posted by Donald J. Trump on 10/3/2008 at 9:52 AM
Just yesterday I was reading about George Clooney, who apparently doesn’t want to say ‘yes’ to a return appearance on “ER”--the show that made him famous. “ER” was one of the most successful of television series, with a big fan base as well as critical acclaim. From there, Clooney went on to great success in films, and has shown himself to be a remarkable and diversified talent.
The gist of the article seemed to be that George Clooney isn’t grateful--to either the show that launched him or his former boss, or to his loyal fans. I can understand that any action--or non-action--can be misinterpreted or made positive or negative depending on the spin it is given by the media. We don’t know the whole story behind his decision, or whether he’s even made his decision.
My point is that we shouldn’t be so quick to judge. We don’t know the background of the situation, and we must realize that he’s a very busy man whose schedule might very well be unable to accommodate a guest appearance. That is likely as well as understandable.
I met George once and he seemed like a great guy. I also think he’s a fantastic actor. I say we should give the guy a chance before jumping to conclusions.

Loyalty and Kelly Preston
Posted by Donald J. Trump on 1/6/2009 at 6:25 AM
I have always respected people who were loyal and faithful--which brings to mind Kelly Preston. A long time ago, before I was married, I met Kelly Preston at a club and worked like hell to try and pick her up. She was beautiful, personable, and definitely had allure. At the time I had no idea she was married to John Travolta.
In any event, my track record on this subject has always been outstanding, but Kelly wouldn’t give me the time of day. She was very nice, very elegant, but I didn’t have a chance with her, and that was that.
When I later found out she was married to John, I liked and respected her even more. Some people have values that matter to them, and she is one of them. Her loyalty was unwavering and I have always remembered that about her.
Being true to someone is very close to being true to yourself. That’s a valuable attribute in today’s world. I’m sure she was a wonderful mother to Jett and my thoughts are with her and her family after their terrible loss.

Past comments by Trump regarding celebrities -
We’ve heard the most recent - his Twitter comment saying that many of Hillary’s celebtrity supporters are no longer “hot”.

I only have one regret in the women department – that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer.
I met her on a number of occasions. I couldn’t help but notice how she moved people. She lit up the room with her charm, her presence. She was a genuine princess – a dream lady
Comment - Eeeeewwww, as if she would have looked twice at Trump!!! It’s reported that he gave her the ‘creeps’! Then he speaks ill of her after she passed away (see below)
And as for Oprah? She said NO to Trump as his running mate way back. Here is a recent comment and with a ‘fantastic’ facetious comment that “until this election year ... I have no qualifications to run but I’m feeling qualified!”. Onya Oprah!!!! I wonder if Trump et al gets the “sarcasm”?
Some Trump quotes on the Howard Stern show -
Princess Diana (again) - “Why do people think it’s egotistical of you to say you could’ve gotten with Lady Di?” Stern asked. “You could’ve gotten her,
right? You could’ve nailed her.”
“I think I could have,” Trump said.
“She had the height, she had the beauty, she had the skin — the whole thing,” Trump said, before adding that “she was crazy, but these are minor
details.”
“Other than she was wacky, I think she was close to a 10”.
Angelina Jolie (again) -
“I don’t think she’s good-looking,” declared Trump. “I don’t know what it is. I never thought she was good-looking. I don’t think she’s got good skin. I
don’t think she’s got a great face. I think her lips are too big, to be honest with you, they look like too big.”
“I don’t think she’s good-looking,” continued Trump. “You talk about a transformation. Now the United Nations is honoring her as this great, wonderful
— I remember three years ago she was frenching her brother at the Academy Awards. She was walking in with Billy Bob and she was saying she got
screwed in the car. Now they’re saying she’s a lady of the peace. I mean, give me a break. I never thought she was good-looking.”
Madonna (again) - When Stern asked if Trump could “get it up for her” Trump said, “I think I’d have a hard time”
Nicolette Sheridan - “A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10.”
Marcia Cross - “Would you go out with Marcia Cross or would you turn gay, Howard?”
Read more exerts and hear snippets from the shows (if you can stomach it!)
Trump’s tweets on celebrities are legendary, but until you put them in one place one doesn’t realise just how many there are!
When he attacks he goes all out. The venom is mind-boggling! It is despicable that a grown man feels the need to comment on everyone in the most vitriolic manner.
In same cases, he has been truly obsessed, as in Danny Zuker, producer (at least 40 tweets over 3 months) and Lord Sugar (host of UK Apprentice - at least 46 tweets over 5 months). I feel pity for Trump; this is just another example of his OCD.
